Assoc. Dr. Feyza Altınkamış completed her undergraduate education in Çukurova University, Department of English Language Teaching, and her master's degree in the same field at Bilkent University. She received her doctorate from Çukurova University in 2005 by conducting research on the early vocabulary development of monolingual Turkish children and parent-child language interaction. Then, with the support of TÜBİTAK and TÜBA post-doctoral research program, she conducted comparative research in the language laboratory of Dynamique du Langage (DDL) of Lyon 2 University, France. Between 2011 and 2016, she was appointed as a lecturer in the Department of Turkish in the Department of Translation, Interpretation and Multilingual Communication, at the University of Belgium/Ghent, Faculty of Literature and Philosophy, by the Ministry of National Education of Turkey. After this assignment for 5 years, the language development of Turkish bilingual children and language policy in the family for 6 years in the same university and department. She worked as a postdoctoral researcher on the subjects.
In 2018, she received the title of associate professor in the field of Linguistics from the Turkey/Interuniversity Board Presidency. She is currently continuing his research in the Department of Linguistics and Literary Studies at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. Language teaching, language interaction in the family, language acquisition, literacy development in bilingual children in the early period, etc. She has many articles and papers published in national and international journals and books. She has consulted many master's theses on the same subjects and has been a member of the advisory board in master's and doctoral theses on the language development of Turkish bilingual children in Belgium. She taught English as a foreign language at Ege University and Çukurova University School of Foreign Languages in Turkey, and Turkish as a foreign language at Belgium/Gent University. She is a founding member of the Belgian Turkish Language Institute Integration and Research Center, where she carries out active projects in the field of Turkish teaching.
